It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you to the 6th International Symposium of Clinical Immunology, to be held on May 21–22, 2027, in the historic city of Nara, Japan, in a hybrid format.
Clinical immunology stands at the crossroads of basic immunology and patient-centered medicine, encompassing immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, autoimmune disorders, allergies, immunodeficiencies, and immune dysregulation associated with infections and malignancies. Despite remarkable progress, many immune-related diseases remain difficult to diagnose and treat, underscoring the urgent need for deeper mechanistic understanding and innovative therapeutic strategies. This symposium aims to provide a vibrant international platform where clinicians and scientists from diverse specialties gather to share cutting-edge discoveries, unmet clinical needs, and future perspectives in human immunology.
Nara, Japan’s ancient capital, was chosen with special intention. I have long admired Ganjin (Jianzhen), the eminent Chinese monk who, in the 8th century, crossed the sea to transmit medical knowledge, culture, and the spirit of compassion to Japan. His legacy, preserved at Toshodaiji Temple, symbolizes intellectual courage, cross-border exchange, and dedication to humanity—values that resonate deeply with the mission of clinical immunology. Surrounded by UNESCO World Heritage sites, tranquil temples, and timeless landscapes, Nara offers a unique environment for reflection, inspiration, and meaningful scientific dialogue.
As a physician-scientist specializing in allergy and clinical immunology, I firmly believe that progress in our field arises from close integration of basic, translational, and clinical research, as well as from international collaboration. On behalf of the Japanese Society of Clinical Immunology, I warmly invite you to join us in Nara to engage in stimulating discussions, build new partnerships, and shape the future of clinical immunology together.
